Christmas at Kew...

Our little flat is looking decidedly un-festive as our Christmas decorations are buried at the back of our storage unit in preparation for the big move so I have been taking every opportunity to feel Christmasy and for the little dude to experience the magic of Christmas.

I had heard great things about the illuminated walk at Kew Gardens form fiends in the past, so what better way to kick of our festive season…the trail is about a mile long and winds it way past some of Kews most famous sites that have been transformed with light...

Even with the rain it was a truly magical experience.  The trail is open until January 3rd so you still have time to visit.

7 Month Update...

The little dude is 7 months…closer to a his first birthday than to being a newborn.

 

This month has been an exciting one with lots of new developments.  First up we have a tooth!  Whilst there were a few unsettled days and nights in the lead up of said tooth popping through, I think on balance we got away with it pretty lightly.  He's such a strong little fella.

Weaning is going well.  We are still going down the baby led weaning path so not a huge amount is being eaten, but the little dude does seem to be enjoying exploring all the different tastes and textures.  This week it feels as though there has been a bit of a breakthrough and we are seeing some chewing action and I am sure more is being swallowed now.

The crazy little dude has a real love of shaking his head back and forward as if he is saying no, which makes for some very amusing moments as I am talking to him throughout the day!

He's a very curious little thing much like his favourite TV character Curious George.  He doesn't watch a lot of TV, but he does enjoy an episode of Curious George as we wind down towards bath time.  Bath time is a real hoot now as splashing has been discovered and whoever is bathing him tends to end up as wet as him!

I'm so proud of the personality that we see developing before us…we love you more and more everyday little dude.

Me and Mine: A Family Portrait - November

Flat 102 is on the move!

This picture was snapped outside our new home…we're hoping to move in early January so look out for lots of interior design inspired posts soon!

As you can probably tell from my face we are super excited to be on the move.  Our little flat has been home to me for nearly 8 years and has seen me through many ups and downs during that time…more ups than downs thanks to the past few years.  Mr O moved in just after we got engaged 2 years ago and then 7 months ago we brought the little dude home so whilst I am looking forward to more space I will be sad to leave our little home.

Although it doesn't look like it in the picture above, the little dude is also excited…

Our Weekend...

This weekend was all about celebrations…Mr O was a Godparent at a Christening and on Sunday we had a belated Birthday lunch to celebrate my Dad and Brother's Birthdays.

Me and Mine: A Family Portrait Project - October

How is it November already?

This month I was a little more organised for our me and mine photo after last month's disaster!  Ever since the little dude has come along I have felt a strong urge to continue the traditions that Mr O and I both had in our respective families and to also start some new ones of our own.  Heading to a pumpkin patch to pick our pumpkins for halloween is a tradition I hope to continue for many years to come.

 

Wouldn't it be fun to have a a photo like this every year that were put out with our halloween decorations just for the month of October…

Halloween Fun..

Halloween is so much more fun with a little one!  This year we kicked off our halloween celebrations with a trip to the pumpkin patch.  This is the first time I have been to a pumpkin patch since I was a kid and it didn't disappoint.  The only issue was trying to choose which pumpkins to take home.  In the end I convinced Mr O we needed one each plus some munchkin pumpkins!

On Friday we headed to a friends Halloween party.  All the babies were looking super cute all dressed up, but I think this little skeleton was the cutest of all…

We also rustled up this spooky treat inspired by a picture I saw on instagram...
