Did you see this article that has been doing the rounds on social media?

Every expectant mother in Finland is given a box that contains a 'starter' kit for their baby from the government. The box can even be used as a bed for the newborn. I found it really interesting how the contents of the box has changed over the years and has helped to promote breastfeeding, Flat102http://www.blogger.com/profile/13970758504851853520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8571334673755486626.post-62213153370002912532015-01-15T19:42:00.000+00:002015-01-15T19:42:15.583+00:002015…One Word...This year I have decided to do away with resolutions and instead pick one word to reflect upon over the course of the year instead. This is a bit of a back to front post as I am starting with Christmas day and working backwards!

Our little flat is looking decidedly un-festive as our Christmas decorations are buried at the back of our storage unit in preparation for the big move so I have been taking every opportunity to feel Christmasy and for the little dude to experience the magic of Christmas.
I had heard great things about the illuminated walk at Kew Gardens form fiends in the past, so what better way to kick of Flat102http://www.blogger.com/profile/13970758504851853520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8571334673755486626.post-33572272421571829422014-12-12T21:08:00.000+00:002014-12-12T21:08:10.678+00:007 Month Update...
The little dude is 7 months…closer to a his first birthday than to being a newborn.
This month has been an exciting one with lots of new developments. First up we have a tooth! Whilst there were a few unsettled days and nights in the lead up of said tooth popping through, I think on balance we got away with it pretty lightly. He's such a strong little fella.

Flat 102 is on the move!
This picture was snapped outside our new home…we're hoping to move in early January so look out for lots of interior design inspired posts soon!
As you can probably tell from my face we are super excited to be on the move. Our little flat has been home to me for nearly 8 years and has seen me through many ups and downs during that time…more ups than downs Flat102http://www.blogger.com/profile/13970758504851853520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8571334673755486626.post-39699201028463595222014-12-02T21:31:00.001+00:002014-12-02T21:31:51.778+00:00Our Weekend...

How is it November already?
This month I was a little more organised for our me and mine photo after last month's disaster! Ever since the little dude has come along I have felt a strong urge to continue the traditions that Mr O and I both had in our respective families and to also start some new ones of our own. Heading to a pumpkin patch to pick our pumpkins for halloween is a Flat102http://www.blogger.com/profile/13970758504851853520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8571334673755486626.post-75034222423927575422014-11-03T20:50:00.001+00:002014-11-03T20:50:52.785+00:00Halloween Fun..
Halloween is so much more fun with a little one! This year we kicked off our halloween celebrations with a trip to the pumpkin patch. This is the first time I have been to a pumpkin patch since I was a kid and it didn't disappoint. The only issue was trying to choose which pumpkins to take home. In the end I convinced Mr O we needed one each plus some munchkin pumpkinsFlat102http://www.blogger.com/profile/13970758504851853520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8571334673755486626.post-4178349416198495272014-10-26T19:50:00.000+00:002014-10-26T20:32:24.871+00:006 Month Update...I know I was crazy late posting the little dude's 5 month update, but seriously it feels like yesterday and now here I am typing the words 6 months…HALF A YEAR!
This month has been a month of highs and lows. I'll get the low out of the way first so we can focus on the positives.
The weekend before last we ended up in hospital with the little dude being diagnosed with meningitis. &Flat102http://www.blogger.com/profile/13970758504851853520noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8571334673755486626.post-74732411803715299592014-10-06T08:19:00.001+01:002014-10-06T08:19:12.494+01:00Me and Mine: A Family Portrait Project - September
I am ashamed to say that even though I took hundreds of photos throughout September there are only two with all three of us in and both taken on the same day by my parents.
Last weekend we left the little dude for the first time overnight (not on his own of course, Granny and Grandad were left in charge!) the first photo was taken not long after we were all reunited...

I am super late with this months update…I know I
have said it before, but I really don't know where the days go. This is
even more true now with the little dude being more active and sleeping less
during the day…that said the last month has been one of my favourites so far.
Watching the little dude change and develop new skills everyday is such a
privilege.

Last weekend was jam packed full of fun, family, friends and food…just how I like them.
The little dude was back at his swimming lessons on Saturday after the summer break and thankfully he still loved it. I was a bit nervous that after a 4 week break he might need some time to get used to it, but I really needn't of worried…
After swimming we headed east to Columbia Road...

August was such a fun month and for once I managed to remember to take lots of photos of the three of us which meant I actually had to pick a pic rather than just go with the only photo I had!
My absolute favourite picture this month is this one from our trip to the Mayfield Lavender Farm…you can read all about it here…

The burgers I made are super simple and don't call for too many ingredients

75g grated cheese with scotch bonnet chillies (you can use any good melting cheese)
tomato ketchup
salt/pepper
rolls
tomatoes

There have been so many changes since the last update and even though I have been trying to note things down as they happen I am sure there are more I have forgotten.

Saturday was spent taking the little dude to his swimming lesson, he really is getting the hang of it and more importantly enjoying it now. We then headed off to meet friends over from Abu Dhabi in the pub. No pictures of that one I'm afraid, too busy chatting!
On Sunday we headed off to Virginia Water for Mr Flat102http://www.blogger.com/profile/13970758504851853520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8571334673755486626.post-29294266483477253432014-07-22T09:17:00.002+01:002014-07-22T09:18:42.515+01:00Water Baby…
Last weekend the little dude started his swimming lessons. I am not a very confident swimmer and I really didn't want to pass this down the generations and felt the best way for Max to not follow in my footsteps was to start him swimming early.

Yesterday we celebrated my parents 40th wedding anniversary…40 years!?! Having just passed our first anniversary 40 seems like a long long way away!
