Five Favs...

I drafted this post just before labour started and now my feet are back to normal I'm thinking that I should get one of these pairs to celebrate.  As the Louboutins are out of the question I'll probably go with the River Island pair.

The more my feet swell in these last stages of pregnancy and therefore the less shoes I can fit into the more obsessed I am becoming over summer sandals…here are a few of my favourites that I would love to rock while pushing Baby O in his buggy when he arrives!

Last Thursday Mr O and I decided to head out for a pre Baby O date night.  I had been wanting to try When Mac Met Cheese for ages and I have to say it did not disappoint.

Nice Rack...

Last week I finally got round to getting myself measured for some nursing bras and I have to be honest it wasn't as stressful as I thought.  I popped to my local Mothercare where the assistant couldn't have been more helpful, unfortunately I seemed to be between sizes there so ended up in good old M&S, but I did pick up some sleep bras from Mothercare.

I didn't want to spend a fortune at this stage as I am sure my shape is going to change numerous times over the next few months, but I also wanted something that still looked nice-ish (as well as being functional!) and both Mothercare and M&S ticked all the boxes.

For the daytime I opted for this double pack from M&S - £29.50

And to sleep in I went for this double pack from Mothercare - £24

Hopefully they'll last me a little while...

39 Weeks...

1 week until d-day.  For the last few weeks I have been convinced Baby O would arrive early, but the closer I get to my due date the less convinced I am…I think it may have just been wishful thinking mixed with a small spoonful of impatience!

This last week has been a good one apart from the lack of sleep, I'm waking up EVERY hour at the moment, and a cold that I have picked up.  I had to pop up to the Day Assessment Unit yesterday due to some headaches I'd been having over the weekend, but all is good.  Baby O is fine and they are probably due to the cold and lack of sleep.

Baby O is still as wriggly as ever, sometime his movements are SO strong they take my breath away, but I still love them!

Hurry up Baby O we want to meet you!

Its The Weekend...

What are your plans this weekend?  Mines a busy one…brunch with friends, lunch with a bunch of colleagues today and one of my best friends Baby Shower tomorrow, obviously all dependent on whether Baby O decides to arrive this weekend!  Whatever you are doing I hope you have fun.

This YouTube video was my absolute favourite thing on the internet this week, I loved it so much I felt it deserved its own post…enjoy!

Whats In My Bag...

I've had the basics of my bags for the hospital packed for about a month and been adding to them as I go along, but now with only a couple of weeks to go I thought I should go back and check I hadn't missed anything.  Here is what I have packed for both Baby O and me (Mr O is packing his own bag), I'm sure it is way too much, but I would rather have too much than not enough!

  • Clothes to labour in - 2 x vest tops, 1 x nightie
  • Socks
  • 5 x cheap knickers
  • Flip flops
  • Breast pads
  • Maternity pads
  • 2 x PJs
  • Maternity mats
  • Drinks & snacks
  • Tens machine - not shown, being delivered tomorrow
For Baby O:
  • Nappies
  • Water wipes
  • Muslins - 2 x standard, 1 x giant
  • 2 x blankets

  • 2 x hats
  • 2 x onesies
  • 2 x going home outfit - 1 x up to 7lbs, 1 x newborn
  • 'Snowsuit'
  • Cuddly toy!
On the day I'll also be throwing in my phone charger and camera

  • Towel
  • Nursing bras
  • Dressing gown

  • Going home outfit for me!

38 Weeks...

2 weeks to go!!  We had our 38 week check with the midwife at the birth centre today.  It was such a different experience to all my other appointments.  Don't get me wrong all the midwife appointments I have had so far have been great, but they always feel a little rushed. Todays appointment was much more relaxed, the midwife was so kind, caring and reassuring and I came away even more excited to give birth in the birth centre.

All the checks the midwife carried out were spot on again and Baby O is over 1/2 way engaged…yay!

I've been bouncing on my ball, walking lots and listening to my natal hypnotherapy CD all in the hope that Baby O will arrive on his due date (which I found out much to Mr O's delight is national bicycle day!).  A few more stretch marks have reared their ugly heads this week, but I'm not as bothered as I thought I would be by them.  I just see them as further proof that I am growing a little human!  Don't get me wrong though I am still covering myself in oil.  I've also got a bit of swelling in my feet, but the midwife didn't seem to worried by it, so I goes for now I'll be sticking to flip flops and my one pair of trainers that fit!

Looking forward to meeting you soon Baby O!
