She's A Real Lady...

Victoria Beckham's new e-commerce website launched this week and whilst I would happily add any of the items to my wardrobe it would require me re-mortgaging my flat as the cheapest piece on the site is a pair of classic aviators for £305.  BUT, if I were to be given a supermarket sweep style free pass I would grab these three items...

Wedding Wednesday - Let Them Eat Cake!

This weeks wedding post is all about cake.  We've had so much fun looking at all the different style of cakes out there...who knew there were so many!?  We've not had any tastings yet, but I am very much looking forward to that stage, hopefully I'll still fit in my dress!

We particularly like the ruffled effect and are hoping that we'll be able to achieve this with butter icing...

Cover Me In Jewels

I am a big believer that jewellery can make or break an outfit.  I have been having a love affair with statement necklaces for about a year as my ever growing collection can attest to!

I could find a home for all of these lovelies...

Happy Feet...

Last Thursday afternoon my day was instantly cheered up by the arrival of these little beauties.

The collaboration between Nicholas Kirkwood and Disney’s Oz The Great and Powefull launched at London Fashion Week last month, but this was the first time I had seen the shoes in the flesh.

The shoes were inspired by the three witches in the film: Glinda, Theodora and Evanora.   The Evanora inspired shoes were definitely my favourite, they had to prised off my feet at the end of the day!

To find out more about the collection click here and if you fancy snagging yourself a pair head on down to the Selfridges Shoe Carnival!

Spring Has Sprung...

Today is the first day of Spring...not that you would know based on the weather.  Over the past week I have been trying to encourage Spring to come out of hiding by including lots of colour in my work outfits, but to be honest it really doesn't seem to be working.  I cannot wait for that first day when I can confidently ditch the black opaque tights...it has been a long time coming.   This skirt will be first out of the wardrobe...its done me well with tights and a big jumper through the winter, but it just looks so much better with bare legs.

Wedding Wednesday

I am so excited to be getting married this June and while this is not intended to be a 'wedding blog' it's such a big part of my life right now there is no way I could not include it...so welcome to the first Wedding Wednesday!

We are very lucky to be getting married in what I think is one of the most beautiful spots in the UK...the Dorset coast.  We are having a traditional Church ceremony at the church my Mum and Dad attend - Poole Christian Fellowship - and then we'll transport our guests by coach to the Sandbanks to Studland Ferry where we'll cross as foot passengers (so excited about the photo opportunities!) and make the short stroll to Shell Bay Restaurant.

We knew we wanted to get married in Poole and soon after James popped the question we started the online search for the perfect venue... approximately five minutes later we found it - Shell Bay.  We fell in love.  A week or so later we drove down from London to Poole to look at different locations, because you can't just chose the first venue you see online right? Wrong!  As soon we set eyes on Shell Bay on a rainy cold December Saturday we both knew this was 'The One'.  It was so pretty and the views were incredible even though it was closed and it was a miserable day.  Then the panic set in, we had set our hearts on a June wedding and that was only 7 months away, would they be able to fit us in.  Cue some frenzied emails and calls and followed by a HUGE sigh of relief when every Saturday in June was free...it was meant to be!

Check out these pictures to see what all the fuss is about...

I mean seriously it doesn't even look like the UK.  Here's hoping for a beautiful sunset on the big day.

Give A Girl The Right Shoes And She Can Conquer The World - Marilyn Monroe

First day back in the office after a week out and I had to remind myself more than once to ‘be awesome’.

This started with picking an outfit this morning.  Back in the wardrobe went the jeans and out came my trusty red whistles dress and dune leopard print heels.

I always feel so much more put together when I have on heels, add a dress into the mix and I feel like I can take on the world!  I only wished I had made the effort to paint my nails…my current favourite colour is Chanel Emprise from the Spring/Summer ’13 collection.  I originally bought this to use at my wedding in June, but I am not sure I’ll have any left by then!

Stop Being Boring...

I watched this video from Kid President about a month back and it really struck a chord with me.  I find that I regularly allow myself to get stuck in various ruts and then find I'm full of frustration that I am not following my dreams and achieving my full potential.  This past week I have been off work and for the first time in a long time I feel really, truly, completely and utterly relaxed.  Don't get me wrong I have a great job that I love, its just sometimes you need to step off the hamster wheel and gain some perspective.

I've spent the the week seeing friends, working on products for my Etsy store, laughing with my bridesmaids as we tried on their dresses - which I love by the way, thank you so much Katie at Coralie Beatrix - and gernerally reminding myself to not just be me, but to be the very best version of me.  So people....
